Transubstantiation…
Doctrine of the Catholic Church, scientifically verified?
Figure 1 |
According
to the teachings of the Catholic Church, Transubstantiation is the change of
substance of bread and wine offered (consecrated) as a sacrifice in Mass, into
the real body and blood of Jesus Christ. The Church teaches the way the substance
of the Eucharistic offering changes into the body and blood of Christ is a
mystery and incomprehensible to human intellect. But it appears even Catholic
have trouble believing this nature.
However over centuries there have been numerous reports of consecrated hosts
turning to physical flesh and blood.

The Miracle of Lanciano
In 8th century Lanciano, a priest who was doubting the claims of the church; that Jesus was truly present in the consecrated, when he said the words of consecration during mass(“this is my Body. This is my blood”) saw the bread and wine turn into real human flesh and blood.( Figure 1 unleavened bread used during mass and once consecrated known as the “Eucharistic Host” or body of Jesus). The host with the flesh(figure 2) can be seen today in the church of Francesco in the Town of Lanciano Italy(where the miracle took place in the years of 700 A.D). The blood (transformed from the

Five scientific investigations where done on the alleged
relics, the most recent on being in 1971 by Professor Adoardo Linoli ,
Professor in Anatomy , Pathological Histology and in Chemistry and Microscopy
accompanied by Professor Ruggero Bertile of the University of Siena.
Listed below are few
of the finding of the investigation:
1. The Flesh consisted of striated muscle of the heart, known as the Myocardium
2. We also see the endocardium, the vagus nerve and left ventricle of the heart present
3. Though over 1250 years old, the flesh was found to be free of agents used for preserving flesh
4. The Flesh and blood have the same blood type AB positive ( a rare blood group, found most commonly in Palestine and regions of the Middle East, the origins of Jesus Christ).

5. Weighting of blood globules resulted in a paradox. The five globules
weighted either separately or in a combination or all together all
weighted the same weight every time. e.g. 1 Globule =15.85
grams, 2 Globules = 15.85 grams, 3 Globules = 15.85 grams, 4 Globules = 15.85 grams, 5 Globules
(all together) = 15.85 grams.
6. In the blood there were found proteins in the same proportion that would be found in fresh
human blood, despite being over 1000 years old. These proteins are normally gone within 20-30
minutes of a cut to the skin.

The scientist
concluded that it was impossible the sample to be constructed through fraud.
