A Laser Quest

Lasers and astronomers have now become good acquaintances over the past few years as the lasers help to sharpen the resolution of images to create beautiful landscapes of the vast empty space that surrounds us. What else is more beautiful? But, recently, astronomers could now go on to use lasers as a way of playing hide and seek from extraterrestrial creatures lurking in the deep horizons of space.

The way to hide is reasonably simple yet slightly complex to understand. A star emits different radiations out in all directions at brisk speeds. If an object was to get into the way of a ray of light, it would terminate the light from travelling through it, as it creates a modest eclipse and a reduction in the volume of light that the star emits. This is a mechanism which has been used by the Kepler telescope to identify over a thousand iconic planets across the galaxy. According to astronomers, this is a similar way in which intelligent civilians would be using to look for us. This is where the use of the lasers comes into effect.

The lasers can be used to relay light out to bar the effect of an eclipse and potentially 'hide' our location. This laser can be used to secrete the same light as the sun which our plant ends up blocking to make it out as if our plant wasn't blocking the sun's rays. This could cause confusion for an alien race out in the galaxy looking for us.

This laser would not have to permanently be on as a minimum of 10 hours once a year is enough to distort the presence of our planet as it creates an eclipse. Moreover, a laser could be built to emit all kinds of frequencies from the electromagnetic spectrum to completely hide us. But is it a good idea to hide ourselves from outsiders? Could they be doing this as well as us?

A theory about aliens visiting the Earth states that they will bring disease to our planet. This is similar to when the Europeans visited the Americas in the 15th and 16th century. The outcome was havoc and disease as two completely different civilizations met for the first time. This could be the outcome of what lays ahead with foreign contact with aliens although the human race managed to survive.

So to conclude, we have a way to find aliens and we have a way to hide from them using the power of lasers. Should we let aliens find us if they are out there? Let us know in the comments below
